Edvard Munch was an exceptionally innovative artist, both in terms of his artistic techniques as well as the compositions and the application of paint. His impact reaches into our time and even today he inspires artists in their work. Now the Albertina in Vienna is dedicating an exhibition to these connections between Munch and contemporary art, "Edvard Munch. In Dialogue" and is not only showing a retrospective of the Norwegian artist, but is also integrating major works by seven contemporary artists into the exhibition that reflect this dialogue in all its diversity. On view are works by Edvard Munch, Georg Baselitz, Andy Warhol, Miriam Cahn, Peter Doig, Marlene Dumas, Tracey Emin and Jasper Johns.
