CLAUDE MONET. The Garden in Giverny
Claude Monet discovered Giverny by chance in 1883. He fell i love with the place, first rented, later on bought a house there and built his famous garden.
Gradually losing his eyesight, Monet spent his later years in the solitude of his garden in Giverny. The largest part of the Albertina Museum exhibition is dedicated to this period of Monet’s work.
Visitors of the Albertina Museum will have the chance to see the original colors of the famous paintings of blooming plants, of glittering water lilies, the Japanese bridge and of the promenades of the garden of Giverny. (text written by Cem Angeli)
