EDVARD MUNCH. In Dialogue. Teaser
Edvard Munch was an exceptional artist and solitary in the European artistic community of his time. Despite his own style, however, he is associated with other artists, especially those who lived after him. This has to do, on the one hand, with the innovative spirit that the Norwegian artist displayed in his work, but also with the themes and content - farewell, mourning, loss - to which he devoted himself. Now the Albertina Museum in Vienna is following Edvard Munch and the traces he left in art history, and in the upcoming exhibition entitled "Edvard Munch. In Dialogue," eighty works by the master will be confronted with works by Warhol, Baselitz, Jasper Johns, Peter Doig, Marlene Dumas, Miriam Cahn and Tracey Emin. We met Antonia Hoerschelmann, the curator of the exhibition in advance and she gets us in the mood for this upcoming exhibition with the Munch painting "Winter Landscape".
Exhibition: "Edvard Munch. In Dialogue" Albertina, from February 18, 2022
